“I use the process of painting as a metaphor for the constantly shifting way I see the world. My paintings both create depth and collapse it at the same time, revealing themselves to be the illusions that they truly are.

I use the nature of paint to confront viewers with the question of whether they truly understand what they are experiencing, both in my paintings and in the physical world around them.”
